Ted Diadiun begs me to link to the PD after advocating outlawing it

Media

I emailed my reaction to the PD’s surreal online chat to Ted Diadiun and the PD’s editorial board, and twice in email, Diadiun both (a) refused to address the substance of his newspaper’s use of a columnist married to a US Senator to lobby the federal government to outlaw linking to his newspaper for 24 hours, and (b) begged me to link back to the chat.

It’s really quite impossible to carry on legitimate debate with people so bizarrely incognizant of their own behavior.   If you want to watch the chat, you’re going to have to go navigate the byzantine Escher drawing that is Cleveland.com, and find it yourself.  I won’t be linking to it, and if I ever do link to anything at the PD’s website again, it will be in error.

But if you do manage to find Ted’s chat, and are physically capable of sitting through the full 15 minutes of arrogance, you’ll conclude that Connie didn’t just spout off.  The PD appears to have made a strategic decision to push their attorney’s ridiculous proposal, first through Connie, the wife of a sitting US Senator, then through this chat, and then through their other columnists.  I know a campaign when I see it.

I may take my video camera to the PD and make these people Youtube stars someday, perhaps on the day they all lose their jobs.  But I may find something better to do on the day their newspaper dies, like wipe my ass with the last edition of the PD.
