VIDEO: Not one Tea Party protestor thinks President Obama was born in the US
Fri, Feb 27, 2009
I attended the Cleveland version of the ridiculous “Tea Parties”, and not a single person would say to me that they believed Barack Obama was born in the US. Not one. Even the event’s organizer, who at the time was being interviewed by Ohio News Network (that’s ONN’s camerawoman putting her mitten in my face), refused to say he believed President Obama to be born in the US. The turnout was lame – I’d say 50 people. You’ll get a flavor of the lameness from the vid. It’s not hard to capture – all you have to do is press record, and let the fun begin.
(And by the way, before any of you nutjobs demand to be taken off the video – public place, public property, speaking voluntarily, equals FAIL.)

Heh.

as someone how has been ambushed by your camera before, i know first hand your editing skills
February 27th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
As for the other people there, I can’t speak for them, but as the organizer of the event, I can speak for myself and tell you that I have no reason to doubt that Obama is telling the truth when he says he was born in the US. I refused to say on camera he was born in the US because that was not relevant to what the demonstration was about. Twisting words will only get you so far.

Kudos

Tim, this video is fundamentally dishonest and you know it. I feature prominently – the guy with the fedora at 1:04 – I have to say I admire your chutzpah – politely asking me for an interview, quietly recording your little sound bite, and then leaving me with no chance to explain my views. I particularly like how you seem to have casually lumped me in with people who genuinely seem to believe that President Obama doesn’t hold office legitimately, despite the fact that I never indicated as such during our interview, as well as the way you so casually resort to ad hominem attack-mode and opt to make me look stupid rather than, say, coming up to me and asking why I think President Obama’s stimulus act won’t succeed. Ah well, anything for your viewership numbers, eh Tim?
February 28th, 2009 at 2:23 am
The creative editing was a nice touch. Very nice way to twist words and to eliminate any comments that didn’t support the slant you wanted to present. You did it to me several times when you cut in on my responses when I was talking about responsibility.
BTW – you didn’t ask me whether I think Obama is a citizen. And if you had, I would have told it it isn’t relevant to the purpose of our rally and debating citizenship would accomplish nothing worthwhile as our country is headed for destruction lead by Obama, regardless of the status of his citizenship.
The comments on the video on youtube also show how ignorant Obama supporters are – not one of them was willing to engage in meaningful debate or discussion with anybody who disagrees with Obama’s policies. Name calling and foul mouths attest to the lack of intelligence of his faithful. If they believe in what he is doing, they should be willing to defend it intelligently.

do you have any comment on your dishonest editting techniques?
February 28th, 2009 at 4:13 am
you did it again, tim. great work. i wonder how some of these people would like for you to edit the vid so it’s not so obvious they said what they actually said.
February 28th, 2009 at 6:19 am
While many people at this protest, including myself featured in the video, believe that Obama may not be a natural born citizen, the point of this protest was the fact that deficits ARE taxes. I didn’t agree with the defiicit spending with Bush and certainly not Obama.
The Republican and Democrat parties are one in the same. Welfare and warfare are both financed by the PRIVATE central bank, the Federal Reserve. Once you realize that both parties are stepping outside the charter of this Republic with the Federal Reserve financing these taxes, perhaps you will understand the whole point of the protest.

OUT OF CONTEXT!! OUT OF CONTEXT!!!
February 28th, 2009 at 11:09 am

Tim, you might want to stock up on antibiotics; I think you were in the presence of at least one Randian (Fedora Guy). You don’t want to get a bad case of Objectivism.
March 1st, 2009 at 2:15 am
Adam, please don’t slam Rand and her philosophy so broadly. “The Fountainhead” is one of my favorite novels, and it made a damned fine movie too. I never appreciated “Atlas Shrugged” nearly as much. It was okay as entertainment, but kinda over-the-top daffy in large part.
I never studied philosophy in a formal sense, so I’m not familiar with the terminology used to describe various aspects of a thought system, but I embrace the naturalistic and sensory-based parts of Objectivism.
Despite her political/social conclusions, I’ve always felt a grudging respect for the woman and her intellectual rigor.
March 1st, 2009 at 9:53 am
I’ve not read The Fountainhead, but I got 80 pages into Atlas Shrugged when I realized that unlimited selfishness is a virtue in her world. Atlas Shrugged is basically about world in which industrial markets are ruined by government regulation and all of the CEOs retreat to a mountain base to wait out the collapse of the rest of the world so they can recreate it in their own image.
If there is anything the last year or so has taught us, it’s that government regulation can PREVENT the kind of economic meltdown we’ve experienced and she talks about. And living in a world without altruism isn’t practicable. Her philosophy is good as a thought exercise, but like Marx, her “solutions” don’t last very long in the real world.
I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree here.
March 1st, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Yeah, as I mentioned, her politics were definitely screwed, especially as expressed in her fiction. Doesn’t change the fact that her basic ideas related to rational self-interest were solid. And she’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the way she absolutely butchered the philosophical underpinnings of any type of “supernatural” thought.

Can you provide a follow-up story to this? Have they released the information since? http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=79174
If so, where can I find that information.
By the way, I was the idiot talking about a former NSA individual filing suit against the government. You can find out some more information about Obama’s status here – http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/02/obama-birth-cer.html

You know, I fell for it. I focused on distraction of party politics and do indeed look like a fool. I am the “Who wants to print some money guy”. I was lead away from the entire purpose of the Tea Party. Kudos to you and your accomplishment.
Here is the real issue and the answer I should have given you.
Obama is doing exactly what the Bush Administration did. I admit I made the mistake of voting for Bush and the Republicans blew it. Bush, as you may remember, ran as a peace candidate and was going to be fiscally responsible. That was the same platform and force behind propelling Obama to the POTUS.
When Bush pushed TARP on us through the Democrat-controlled Congress, I spoke out against it this Constitutional usurpation. In fact, I helped to organize an effort to ensure our voice be heard against this deficit spending through the private Federal Reserve Bank.
One of the targets of our campaign was Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) who said he received roughly 2,000 letters, emails or phone calls per day pertaining to the bailout, 95 percent of which were negative and against the bailout bill. He didn’t listen. The bailout passed. Nationalization begins.
Both McCain and Obama voted yes to the TARP. Both have voted historically for more war. People that listened to their party only didn’t bother to check out their respective candidate’s record on wars and welfare (and if they did and still voted for their Party Candidate, then they were dupped). Obama and McCain were one in the same. 95% of the time Obama voted for war with McCain. McCain voted 95% of the time with Obama on welfare programs. Check it out for yourself. Nothing would change between the Bush Administration and Obama Administration and it has definitely not.
Bush voted for welfare programs and warfare programs both supported through money creation and expansion by the private Federal Reserve Bank. OBAMA IS DOING THE SAME THING.
Here we stand today. You mock me for speaking a bit of truth about military personnel filing legal action against this administration about Obama’s eligibility through the Constitution, but here is proof of exactly what I am talking about – http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/02/obama-birth-cer.html
I may not be an eloquent speaker, but I do understand the core of our problems. I admitted I made a mistake on who I voted for, so then I turned to the Constitution to see what the rules really were. I then spoke my voice against further Constitutional usurpations by the Bush Presidency and Democratic House and now I will speak out against the Obama Presidency and Democratic House.
We have not had a free market and our problems cannot be blamed on that. We have a central bank that can control the amount of money and credit in circulation along with the purchasing power of money through distortions of interest rates. That is to be considered CENTRAL ECONOMIC PLANNING.
Obama, McCain, and Bush ALL focused on the wonderful tactic you so eloquently exhibited through this video. It is a focus on the crazy fringe issues, while never bringing up the true culprit of our nation’s destruction. Our destruction is coming from our monetary policy and our central economic planning. Both Democrats and Republicans LOVE to inflate the money supply to give EVERYONE whatever the hell they want. It does not work.
How about giving sound money a try?
Why not give freedom a try?
Both Administrations and Parties (except for a small minority of Congressman like Dr. Ron Paul) have been for warfare and welfare. A compromise in Washington is giving both sides more than they want, so they turn to the Federal Reserve in order to fund the compromise. The Federal Reserve, creates the money, loans it to the Governments, and then the Government divvies it out to whatever special interest group they like the most. The Federal Reserve then collects every penny of federal income taxes to pay for the interest on the money the Federal Reserve just got done creating out of nothing.
If you or your group is not one of the politically connected, then by the time the money does get to you, prices have adjusted upward as there is a larger supply of money chasing after the same amount of goods. The everyday American gets to pay for all of the deficits through taxes and higher consumer good prices. We are all being robbed while we chase the smoke and mirrors.
If the people were truly taxed for all of the welfare and warfare of this country it would all end in weeks because we do not have the money. When you have a central bank that can create the money the tax payment can be delayed. The tax payment is being called to us right now and you will see price inflation like you have never seen before. This inflation of consumer good prices (energy and food) will be a direct result of the increase in the money supply by Bush and Obama.
These two administrations should be criminally charged in treason against the Constitution.
It matters not who is in office, what matters is the rule of law. Just because 32% of the registered voters in America voted for Obama, does not mean the Constitution can be ignored.
BloggerInterrupted – you have taught me a lesson I shall never forget and I thank you for fooling me as you did. Fool me once……shame on you. Fool me twice…..shame on me.

Tim-
You’re welcome and thank you. We have added a pretty healthy list of replies to your blog. And I would like to add a couple of my own points:
First I asked to be on your video camera, when I asked who you were recording for ;but you walked away from me. Had you stuck around you may have been educated a little on the situation you walked into – already with a negative agenda in mind.
Targeting specific players of the current tax bills was what, the organizers of the protest were trying to avoid. Because it is truly the direction Washington is going (and if this makes you feel better little Timmy) and has been going for some time that we are protesting about – Not whether or not Obama is a citizen. Honestly if you think you are going to find out the truth at this point, you really are more disillusioned than you are willing to admit.
Tim, I have a mortgage, do you? I have a full time job in the day and nearly second one (my own business) at night, do you? I have a son and I am concerned about what life, what world, I will pass on to him. You? I can read and I can reason and I sincerely believe that the current direction we have empowered Washington to take needs challenging. What are you a professional student? WRUW alum? Whatever. What if your prof passed out grades based on how many favors the students gave them? What if you spent hours on each paper you submitted, but found out the prof never read anything and graded based only on the pony up principle? Well similar is happen in Washington and it not only affects me, but even you. Except I must be crazy for caring about it, right? So if it is happening how are you benefiting from it? Because I don’t see myself benefiting. You want free health care? Free place to live? Free food? Free clothes? Free video cameras and supplies w/ free net access. Are you an imbecile? Nothing is ever free, especially when it comes to our Government. And rarely is it ever ran efficiently. Please blog a Government efficiency rating for us, now I’m curious.
Worst of all, I think policies are being set in place to encourage lazy, slothful, wait-for-hand-out behavior as a long term goal. You work hard for what you do on this blog; what if other blogs, with less content, less effort received 50% of every donation you received? What if it were even 25%? What if all the content you posted had to be shared with other sites and your ownership was stripped by another’s? Why would you bother to do it? Or would you still? I know, I know, the Democrats and Obama wouldn’t do you that way, because they are a party of Hope and Change. Keep thinking that man, numb your brain even more so the political lobotomy won’t hurt so much. Ever seen a poor politician? Ever seen them give and not expect (to) take?
If you were to gauge the actions of the local Democratic Party here in open and transparent Cleveland as a representation of the Federal Democratic Party, would you still be so proud of Washington politics? Speaking of the home front, why not go use your energy and investigate Russo and Dimora? Or ask Mayor Jackson what exactly he does all day. Or why is the Cleveland Water Dept under a non-stop investigation? And dare ya to go on down to Section 8 and ask how long the average recipient’s benefits last. Or would that shatter your Democratic dream? No, you would rather spend your Friday afternoon asking out of context questions to unsuspecting people. Classy. Your Mom must be proud…
Now Tim, for the record, I’m Libertarian at best. Meaning I can blame both parties if I choose; like you Repubs and Dems love to do. And that is what I want them to do, because they are both to blame. Just do it somewhere outside of the US borders, so America can finally have some constructive Hope and Change; not more of the same.
This is your blog and you are certainly free (for now) to be as childish and slanted as you like. But thanks for the free advertising of our cause, from a protestors who didn’t your agenda’s profile.
March 2nd, 2009 at 11:11 am
did anybody else find tod’s comment unreadable? i was able to get to the point where it was bragging about having a mortgage and a complete lack of writing ability.
hey tod, maybe tim walked away with his camera because he determined you were an incoherent lunatic. that’s what your writing would indicate.
March 2nd, 2009 at 1:14 pm
the way you so casually resort to ad hominem attack-mode and opt to make me look stupid
I’d say he didn’t have to work too hard at that, Lars. You helped immensely.
March 2nd, 2009 at 1:44 pm
You Interviewed Me. I stated that he was born in the US. You are obviously lying.
Great work moonbat!
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:56 am
Lars in the fedora said: “…leaving me with no chance to explain my views.”
HAHAHAHAHA
Lars, I’d love to hear your explanation of the dumb look on your face with your answer of “Kenya, wasn’t he?… I’m fairly certain I read an article about it.”
HAHAHAHA
No one “opted” to make you look stupid — you pulled off looking stupid all on your own. Congrats on being uninformed.
p.s. lose the fedora, trust me
p.p.s. aimed at blogger interrupted: GREAT VIDEO. Nice work letting these people show off their stupidity.

Ah, they love the smell of their fellow tea-bagger’s tea bags smacking them in the face in the morning. Smack, smack, smack.
