Staid blue blood PR firm hosts NEO social media thingy – we make fire

Former city of Cleveland tech czar, Mike DeAloia invites us all into the belly of the beast.
First things first, I wanted to invite everyone to the Cleveland Social Media monthly meeting on January 14, 2009 at 6pm. This event will be hosted Edward Howard Public Relations firm – so many thanks for Melissa Koski @ Edward Howard for putting this whole show together.
…Making things happen is fun.
Edward Howard is one of the oldest PR firms in Ohio. Their client list is a who’s who of the corporate establishment in Cleveland. Which doesn’t bode well for any social media project launched in its conference room. This is the kind of group which, before dinner 35,000 years ago, used to gather their antelope around a pile of wood and grunt things like “we make fire!”
Not sure what kind of “thing” will be made to happen in such an environment other than find more ways to feather already well-feathered nests. Ahoy!!

Hey now, give us a break!
True, Edward Howard IS one of the oldest PR firms in Ohio. In fact, we’re the oldest independent PR firm in the U.S., so, we’ll plead guilty to that one. Natural selection and evolution have weeded out a few others who weren’t fit enough to survive the changing world!
Fortunately though, it’s been quite a long time since we’ve gathered any antelope, created any cave paintings, or clubbed each other for food. We’re social creatures now, and we’re happy to make our cave available for the meeting.
Anyone from the Paleolithic Era on forward is welcome to come on in and share the flames. We’re all learning and evolving together!
