Why are they angry? The truth hurts, that’s why.
Tue, Oct 14, 2008
We know McCain-Palin crowds are angry. It’s not one or two of them. Not an isolated loony.
It’s all of them.
These are just 6 of the more than a dozen my camera caught in less than 30 minutes of taping. They’re rabid. They’re racist. They’re just this side of a lynch mob.
And their online apologists are even angrier. You can just feel them seething. They are even telling us they are angry, as dishonestly and laughably as they can.
Why are they angry?
We all know why.
They’re going to lose to a black guy, that’s why.
They’re going to lose to a black guy named Barack Hussein Obama.
That’s what enrages them.
And that means the defeat of each and every basic assumption Republicans have ever lived by.
They assumed a military hero would beat any Democrat. FAIL.
They assumed a black man could never be president unless he was a Republican. FAIL.
They assumed a black man with Hussein in his name would be unelectable. FAIL.
They assumed a white man would beat any black man for president. FAIL.
They assumed that Republicanism’s worst filth would destroy America’s best hopes.
FAIL.
And those are just the calculating, cynical, somewhat reasonable ones.
The unreasonable ones?
Poor fools.
Turns out the rest of America isn’t as dumb as they are.
Turns out the rest of America isn’t obsessed with other people’s genitalia.
Turns out the rest of America kinda likes black people.
Turns out America isn’t at all like they thought.
Turns out America at its best looks precisely like Barack Obama. Diverse. Intelligent. Thoughtful. Hopeful. Part Irish. Part African. Part many things, overcoming all things.
And America at its worst looks precisely like they do.
Turns out America’s better angels actually can overcome these people’s worst instincts.
Turns out not much they believe about America is actually true.
How terrible for them.
Their world, as they know it, is about to be rocked to its core, utterly.
Whatever country they thought they lived in wasn’t America. And it never was.
It’s our country now. Again.
Normal human beings would recognize how wrong they are, admit it, and learn.
Don’t bet on that.
These folks instead will turn on each other, for years to come, consuming themselves like maggots at the bottom of a garbage can fighting over the final scrap of rotting leftovers.
I hope they enjoy themselves.
Because I know I shall enjoy watching it.
They wrote their destiny, and they shall now own it.
And America will write their chapter, in her history, for them.

Amazing.

Very valid points.
Awesone.

That was quite a rant. Where did your assumptions come from? The top of your head. By rest of America, the angelic ones, do you mean the 49% who are currently voting for Obama? You said these people are part Irish, part African, part many things, but it didn’t include part American. Is being American uncool or unmodern to you? Are the 41% who are voting for Mccain abnormal or malfunctioned people? If anyone is bigoted it’s you.

I saw this video on youtube with the McCain crowd and well, let’s just say it spoke for itself. The fundamental difference between a McCain and Obama rally is this – McCain crowds seem to focus more on fear and hate, while Obama crowds are more about hope and inspiration. Great blog and keep up the good work!

Sorry, off topic here.
A great report came out yesterday on Salon.com by Max Blumenthal about Palin’s ties to the ultra right wing, seccesionist clan in Alaska the Aslaskan Independence Coalition–some club type name. Odd that someone who pals around with people who hate America would make that claim about others. You can get a lot of it at his web site too:
maxblumenthal.com
And he was interviewed on Democracy Now yesterday. It’d be great if this story could quickly get more traction.

Well, the observations about the crowd are probably true. I am assuming so but watched the videos without sound. I liked the way the blogger thought until he began promoting Obama. And on that “Obama is going to save us” rant – Bullsh**! He serves the same interests. Do you really think the Democrats are going to “Change” anything????
Am I living in a hopeless country? Will people never wake up? I dare anyone reading this to read the following:
America: Wake Now From Your Dream – Before it Becomes a Nightmare!
Defeating the Two-Party System and The Federal Reserve is paramount to the survival of our Constitutional Republic. Both parties work toward the same end. Everyone needs to understand this or we will never take our country back. Does anyone wonder why the Democrats did not do what they were elected to do in 2006?
The issues that divide us all need to be scrutinized. That means each and every person needs to open their own mind and do some soul searching. Why is it you believe what you do? What is really going on? The information is there, if only one digs deep enough. It is imperative that everyone understand what is really happening. There is a REASON our country is so screwed up.
Why is it that most people readily dismiss information that is not main-stream? Why is it that people allow themselves to be jeered into being afraid to entertain a thought, simply because of what someone else has pre-labeled that thought to be? Folks need to stop being afraid of being labeled “unpatriotic” or “paranoid” because they dare to entertain a so-called “conspiracy theory.” How did the people of this nation come to accept the propaganda they are fed, and why do these labels make a person instantly “choose” to turn off their reasoning processes? Those pushing an agenda are the very people perpetuating the negative connotations associated with these labels. In the process, they are successful at stifling genuine critical thought – Thoughts that would make you critical of THEM! And they do have an agenda – hidden from most, that explains everything.
It is time to grow up. That means shedding the belief system that will continue to allow a minority of “elite” to rule over us all. It is time to wake up. Life is not the way it seems. Hopefully people won’t have to die, or watch their children die before they stop dreaming. And no, I’m not crazy, and neither is anyone else bold enough to break out of their mental prison.

Very Good!!!!

I get so worried when I watch these videos because I end up feeling like I am one of the last people in this country who is still open to reason. I sincerely hope, for the good of this nation, that people wake up and abandon their fears of people who are Black, Arabic, Mexican, Native American, etc., etc. I don’t understand why people are so afraid. We are the land of opportunity. The people who compose this “mob” are also from a distant place and have descendants and roots in places like Germany, Norway, England, Ireland, etc., etc. We all come from a different place (with the exception of the Native Americans), once spoke a different language. Our common thread is that we have inherited this country together. Thus, we should act accordingly and live up to the expectations of the world and those of our forefathers. We should act as the multi-cultural society that we are. It’s time to wake up and stop mislabeling and classifying people based on their skin, their surname, etc. Our children deserve to inherit a country filled with thinking, reasonable people, not people who shroud their unfounded fears with ugly hate speech. This is not the America that I know! Are these people the last holdouts? I think that if we elect people who are willing to lie outright and continue repeating lies with the expectation that if the electorate hears it enough, it will become truth (exhibit A: McCain-Palin), we will continue to damage our nation and our people. A lie is a lie no matter how many times it is repeated. Do not be convinced. Listen to your God-given reason, not your gut or your internal stereotypes, and give reason a chance again. Vote Obama/Biden 2008!

The young guy with the beard only wanted to stay off the camera – he said nothing else to you. Why are you bashing him? Just because he’s a well dressed young man supporting a Republican candidate? Did you video any of the fine people that were there protesting, namely the rappin’ reapers? I thought not.

Bravo. Cinematic sociology at its finest. Watching and hearing the McCainomaniacs and Palinophiles put their feet in their collective mouth speaks volumes about the depths of human ignorance being plumbed by the McCain-Palin campaign in its quest for the White House.

I agree, it’s close to infuriating to watch people who are so closed to new ideas and frank, honest debate about policy.
I think you need to question a couple of your tactics though. I mean, what’s with asking a black guy why he’s not voting for Obama, and then pointing out that, like, they’re both black? Isn’t the assumption that he should vote for a guy just because they’re the same race just a teensy bit racist it’s self? I don’t blame him for not wanting to talk to you. The true brilliance of people like John Stewart is they let people talk themselves into a gigantic card house of BS before pulling out the foundation and watching the entire thing crumble apart in front of their eyes.
Does it really advance the cause of rational, honest debate to be purposefully piss people off and hope for a reaction? You’re only confirming what these people already think about Democrats. I think it would be a lot more powerful to just ask questions, and then let them talk themselves into obvious displays of ignorance. Just give them some rope. They’ll hang themselves.
The best part of the video was when you posed what sounds like a simple, non partisn question, like the “How long have you known Obama/Palin” one, and then see people realize their own contradiction. You seem like the polite, rational one, and they seem like they have no basis for their “strongly held” beliefs.

I think this is just a wake up call to all Americans who side with either one of the candidates. Before you go bashing a candidate and defending the other, know the facts! It was truly sad to see all these McCain supporters and when ask something as small as ONE simple thing about McCain, they were mute. If I were McCain I would take offense to someone voting for me but no squat about me!! Don’t get on the bandwagon, do your research. Is this really what Americans think, that because I don’t have a Smith last name I’m automatically a terrorist? Seriously?

These racist cunts should be thrown in jail with plenty of black people. Time for them to learnt their lesson the HARD way, lol. Especially that blonde bitch. She craves black cock.

Man, I can’t wait for these racists to be publicly identified after the election. It’s going to be HILARIOUS.
