Look me in the eye and say it

Media, Politics

I’ve gotten a lot of comments on my YouTubes, on the YouTube channel, in email, and on this blog, all telling me HEADS UP!  They’re mentioning your conviction!

Gee.  YA THINK?!?!?!

When I started this blog in April, my goal was to own my past, so it never owned me again.  The reason this blog is filled with every gory detail of my mistakes, and what those mistakes have done to my life, is to take away the notion that somehow some asshole is breaking some big news when he “reveals” “THE MAN BEHIND THE VIDEO”.

So if anyone is concerned about my well-being, or my psyche, as the internets fill up with “breaking news” about what Russo did 7 years ago, don’t be.  I could give two shits about what anyone thinks of me.  I own my past now, on this blog, and in my life.  If you find that you can’t believe anything I do, write, say, or video, because of that, my advice is to shove your laptop up your ass.

However.

It is a special kind of cowardice to answer an indefensible depiction of bigotry, as my videos clearly are, with nothing more than some completely irrelevant slime attack on the guy holding the camera.  I can understand the slime attack in defense of  a lot of things.  In fact, I expect it.  I even expected it in response to my videos.  To do so in the defense of racism, bigotry, and hatred, is really a new development.  It reveals so much about these people.  So much.

Way more than a 7 year old arrest reveals about me.

My advice to my readers, if you intend to stick around, is to (a) hit the tip jar so I can keep doing this work, and (b) buckle up for the ride.  I’ve been on this ride alone, facing these people behind their anonymous cheap shots, for a long time.  It’s not easy, and it sure as hell ain’t pretty.  But it’s the road ahead for me, whether I like it or not.  And if I cared one iota what these assholes throw at me, I’d be a damn fool.

As I’ve written before, my face, and my story, are festooned across this blog for a reason.  If people are going to spit at me, I want them to SPIT IN MY FUCKING FACE.  Look into my eyes, and tell me what you think.  As Joe Biden put it, “In my neighborhood, you got something to say to a man, look him in the eye and say it to him.”

I’m not holding my breath for the cowards to do so.  But at least I’m holding up my end of it – my face is right here, and if you want to take a shot, you do it to my face.

The whole point of the American Justice system is to give an opportunity for people to 1. be punished for their wrong doings and 2. most importantly be able to rehabilitate themselves and move on with life.

I support you and your blog. I could care less about what happened years ago. The things that people are saying are immature and ignorant. If they are truly “american” then they will understand the purpose of the justice system and just let it go! What is the point of the whole system if a man is haunted for the rest of his life for a mistake he made in his past.

If that man has admitted his wrongdoing, been properly punished for it, and does not continue in the same behavior then there is no point to continue punishing him for the rest of his life.

This is not the 1800’s, I don’t understand why these idiots are forcing you to wear a scarlet letter.

Don’t pay attention to them. They know they are wrong and the only way that they can retaliate is name calling and slander. Keep up the great work.

    Yeah. What Lev said.

It’s ironic, isn’t it, that the comfortable position of not having to confront you is what gives 99% of your detractors the courage to say what they please.

I think it’s very respectable that you’re owning what you did.

And I don’t see how, in any way, what you did discredits the evidence you’ve posted on this site of McCain/Palin supporters being racist shitheads.

I’m glad you’re doing that. I’m also glad you’re getting help and putting your life back in order, and all.

    Good luck.

First, let me state that I am an “out” lesbian and am new to your blog. I really like what you do to combat the McCaniacs – BUT – I just learned that you were convicted of trying to have sex with a 13 year old boy. Perhaps you are mended now, but this was a child you were hoping to have sex with!

Again, I am a Lesbian and have been all my life. But I’ve never wanted or felt compelled to have sex with a little girl.

I wish you well, but I can no longer support or read your blog.

Even though I may not agree with you politically in every aspect, you have the balls that’s needed in today’s world. If anyone shoves an arrest from 7 years old in your face and doesn’t have the right to do so, they’re nothing more than a coward.

I intend to support your blog. Money is tight right now on my end, but don’t think that means I’m not supporting you.

Too bad Obama can’t man up and own his own past. One day he has posts on his site stating he never had connections with ACORN, the next he is talking about representing them. One day he is friends with extremists, the next he is disowning them. Good luck with your socialist movement.
