Joe The Fraud’s dossier – looks just like the Iraq war

Sat, Oct 18, 2008

Media, Politics

The only way to figure out the McCain campaign’s incompetence, which is astounding on an almost psychotic level, is to compare it to the Iraq war.  The Joe The Plumber saga perfectly depicts this, and they are not yet finished being incompetent.

Don’t be surprised if “Joe the Plumber” shows up on the campaign trail with John McCain, the candidate who made him famous.

The Republican presidential nominee called Joe Wurzelbacher, of Holland, Ohio, this morning and the two chatted for a few minutes. McCain will be in nearby Toledo on Sunday and he invited Joe to join him, but McCain aide Brooke Buchanan said it is not yet clear if he can make it.

And it looks like it’s all part of reviving this “elitist” meme.  Lies in pursuit of an agenda…..Iraq, anyone?

So be it.  Let the McCain campaign hang their hat on a guy whose sole argument for media frenzy existence is the fact that HE WILL VOTE AGAINST a candidate who would give him a TAX CUT, and FOR a candidate who wouldn’t, despite the fact his entire argument is ABOUT tax cuts.

It’s the Iraq War all over again.  Build a lie, stick with it, consequences be damned.  This one, however, won’t fly, because the totality of Joe’s fraud is so complete.

Let’s review just how big a fraud Joe The Plumber really is.

1.  He’s not a plumber

Tom Joseph, business manager for Local 50 of the United Association of Plumbers, Steamfitters, and Service Mechanics, said Mr. Wurzelbacher could only legally work in the townships, but not in any municipality in Lucas County or elsewhere in the country.

‘This individual has got no schooling, no licenses, he’s never been to a training program, union or non union, in the United States of America,’ said Mr. Joseph, who said his union has endorsed Barack Obama.

2.  He’s not a small businessman, and wasn’t planning on buying anyone’s business when he lied to Obama about it.

He said he has no immediate expectation of buying the business he works for, but that it remains a long-term goal.

3.  He has never been in the tax bracket he claimed he would be in after he bought the business he was never going to buy, and would actually get a tax cut under Obama.

“I want to set the record straight: Currently I would not fall into Barack Obama’s $250,000-plus,” he said.

4.  Even if he bought the business he has never been in a position to buy, he would still not be in that tax bracket., and the business ITSELF would get a tax cut under Obama.

According to an analysis by Dun & Bradstreet on Wurzelbacher’s employer, A. W. Newell Corp., the plumbing and heating contractor has annual sales of $510,000.

If Wurzelbacher bought the company, by the time he took proper business deductions, Bankler said, he’d be left with between $150,000 and $200,000 in taxable income and wouldn’t be affected by Obama’s proposed increase in the top rates.

5.  He was never an undecided voter, at least not since March, 2008, and certainly not when he lied about being undecided to Obama.

He is registered as a Republican, and voted in the state’s GOP primary in March, county elections records show. But he was previously registered, dating back to 2007, in the Natural Law Party.

6.   All this is before we get into the fun facts of Joe’s life.  I’m sure being a serial liar has helped him with all this.

For one, Wurzelbacher’s expressed concern about paying more taxes looked a bit tarnished with the revelation that he owes Ohio about $1,200 in personal income taxes, according to the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas records. And there’s a 2007 civil filing that shows a record for a $1,200 owed to a creditor, St. Charles Mercy Hospital.

7.  Joe approached Barack and a phalanx of TV cameras, not the other way around.

But he became the hero of conservatives and Republicans when he stopped Barack Obama, who was campaigning on his street Sunday, and asked whether he believed in the American dream.

8.  And his first name isn’t even Joe.

Actually, he’s “Sam The Guy Who Does Plumbing,” technicallly. ”Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher.”

The level of fraud in this story exceeds even the Iraq war argument. It not only fails the smell test, it fails at every level.

Just like the Iraq War.

Why are you so ruthlessly attacking this great American Tim? He’s from OHIO! We should all be proud of this regular Joe. Let’s not do anymore background checks on this guy and let’s celebrate his American-ness!

Evil liberals are always trying to attack real Americans. How unpatriotic is that?

Please stop your relentless pursuit of the truth, Tim. Leave Joe alone!

What does Joe the Plumber have to do with Barack Obama saying he “wants to spread the wealth around,” besides the fact he told it to Joe?

You assailed this exact same practice of “shoot the messenger” when it was aimed at you.

  3. Thorn Says:

Heathie, that comment about wealth was at the end of a five minute long conversation with Sam ‘call me Joe’ the not plumber. To only focus on that one line out of the context of the whole conversation is a radical oversimplification and distorts Senator Obama’s point.
