Instead of blowing off David Letterman to hurry to Washington to save the economy, John McCain blew off David Letterman to do an interview with Katie Couric.  Dave no likey.  At about the 6.39 mark, Dave goes live to the other CBS studio where John McCain is HAVING MAKEUP APPLIED in front of Katie Couric.  

Dave asks, “Hey John, I got a question!  Ya need a ride to the airport?!”….”It’s like we caught him gettin’ a manicure.”

A lot of people learned this lesson a long time ago – you do not piss off David Letterman.

UPDATE – Aravosis notices the makeup artist is McCain’s own personal $5,000 personal makeup babe who follows McCain around to events like a butler.  Not elitist.
