Final roll of the dice on the way
Wed, Sep 17, 2008
The Palin bounce is gone. Barack is back in the lead nationally, and the lead may grow. State polling is showing Barack’s electoral lead solid and potentially growing, too. The economy is now front and center and will be until November 4. The first debate is in a week and a half. If the dynamic doesn’t change soon, Barack will roll over John McCain like a freight train.
That means here comes the ugly.
I told you all, repeatedly, this campaign was about race. You’re gonna find out just how much it’s about race when the McCain campaign makes it’s final roll of the dice in the coming days. The Stupid respond to The Ugly like Pavlovian dogs, and this year, that means tapping into the worst of the worst. Reverend Wright has yet to make an appearance…well, you can bet your last share of AIG that Rev. Wright is on his way.
Stay calm. Stay cool. Fight hard. Get your A-game on. Get a clipboard this week and every week and knock on some doors. Make some calls. Blog with a pair of brass knuckles on your fists. The better angels of America’s nature are relying on us to fight what’s coming.
If we can withstand the next volley, it will be the last. For a real long time.
All hands on deck people.
