Dear Readers - Ask everyone you see if they’re voting for Barack
Thu, Sep 4, 2008
I just came back from Office Max with 50 fliers for the organizational meeting in Middleburg Hts. on Sunday at 1 pm, at the Panera on Bagley Rd. I’m gonna flier my neighborhood for the meeting after I hit “publish” on this post.
When Katie said there was a meeting on Sunday at 1, my first reaction was TO LOOK AT THE BROWNS SCHEDULE TO MAKE SURE THIS WASN’T A TERRIBLE MISTAKE. Phew….game’s at 4.15. Katie’s smarter than I give her credit for!
So I have a special request for all my readers in Ohio.
Ask every single person you meet from now until November 4 if they are voting for Barack.
That’s all.
No need to get into a debate.
No need to persuade.
No need to argue.
Just get everyone you see to understand that IT’S ALL HANDS ON DECK.
Republicans have made it clear they want another culture war.
Well, they got one.
And my first step as a soldier in that fight is to ask every single person I run into whether they will vote for Barack. When I made these copies, I asked everyone in sight “Are you voting for Barack?” Found a couple undecideds, told them to get on the O-Train. Found a couple angry people who didn’t like the question.
Guess what. Too fucking bad.
I don’t care if that makes them uncomfortable. I want to know. If they want to respond, great. If not, fine. I just want everyone I see to know that they cannot get away with being silent, not this year, not this time.
Americans, especially Ohioans, need to understand that this election, they will not be permitted to wander through 2 months in anonymity with their ignornace, or their misconceptions, or their choice for president unchallenged.
John McCain, you want a culture war?
Bring.
It.
On.
