So much whining from the leftysphere lately.  Where’s Obama’s fight?  Where’s the wahmbulance?  Kinda reminded me of this commentary from the Rumble in the Jungle.

“Ali hanging on, getting away with it…these punches will not hurt Ali, Ali just takes it..maybe this could be the tactic of Ali, to let the man punch himself out…”

And then 10 seconds later, this.

Two years ago, Eric wrote about his encounter with Ali at a copy shop, wherein Ali himself rope-a-doped a young Eric Vessels, before knocking Eric out.

It’s the hostage! The hostage was a Parkinson’s riddled Muhammad Ali. I could not understand a word of it. God damned Parkinsons. Parkinsons was fucking up my childhood dream. First the short notice and now THIS!

I can’t even figure out how many copies he wants. How would he give a speech? Hmmm. The last of the copies are coming off as I continue to peak at the document:

“Today, all of us are baffled and perplexed by the question why human life has been deprived of peace and security. Why are we being visited perpetually by various kinds of troubles and hardships? Why has the scheme of our line gone away? We find nations falling foul of one another, country struggling against country, men tearing one another to bits like wolves.”

This was, looking back, the beginning of a spiritual and political journey that I remain on today.

No one really knows where this presidential campaign will go from here.  Today’s return salvo on the utter absurdity of a man who thinks $4 million a year is middle class and can’t remember how many homes he owns might be a one off.   But one gets the sneaking suspicion that Barack Obama has been rope-a-doping John McCain since June.  And today’s right hook is just the beginning.

Let McCain think he’s getting a free pass.  Let McCain punch and punch and punch.  Make everyone think Obama is out of gas, Obama has nothing left in the tank, Obama is too weak, too nice, too wimpy.  No way any man can withstand such a sustained barrage of negativity, body blows against the ropes, cheap shots, below the belt, pummeling.  Barack Obama’s gonna go down.  He’s not gonna fight back.

Boom.  Turns out John McCain is out on a limb.  Kinda even looks like Barack Obama let him walk out onto it.  Maybe even punch himself out.  Maybe Obama’s got a rope-a-dope.  The dope being John McCain.
