My mom’s sauce slow cooking for Thursday night speech watch party

Wed, Aug 27, 2008

Fun, Politics

This is the pasta sauce my mom is making for our Tremont speech watch party tomorrow night.  If you aren’t Italian, you’ve never had it this good.

This recipe came over on a boat sometime around 1900.  It will now be lathered over rigatoni on Thursday in celebration of Barack Obama’s speech.  If you’d like to bring a nice chianti or cabernet, that’s the best.

Don’t worry that it’s being made today, it gets better one day later.  The only thing you have to worry about is whether or not it all survives until tomorrow.

That sauce looks good! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make your party, Tim. I’ve been working 12-hour shifts, and although I’m off today, I still feel as if I’ve been clubbed over the head as I ponder returning to work tomorrow. All this aside from the fact that I’ve become an antisocial SOB. LOL

Looks great Tim, but I’m down in Canton and can’t make it. We’re having a pretty cool watch party downtown though if anyone down here is interested. The watch party will be at the Kresage Green space downtown near The Palace and Little Chicago (on Market). I think the watch party was organized by the Obama Campaign Office down here. It will be cool to watch it though with (hopefully) around 100 or so other supporters at an outdoor space. Should be cool. Have a good time up in Tremont though.
