RE: Glenn Reynolds political activity
I am writing to bring your attention to partisan political activity by a member of UT faculty, Glenn Reynolds, which is potentially in violation of IRS rules governing political activity from a non-profit institution, and any state rules governing same.

I would like to draw your attention to a similar matter which has resulted in a police investigation of political activity from police department property in Milton, Vermont.

I have spoken with Dean Blaze at the Law School, and have learned that Mr. Reynolds political activity is not monitored for compliance. I will also note that in none of Mr. Reynolds communication with me on this matter has he denied using UT resources for his political activity.
As a federal taxpayer, I would like to know with certainty that my tax dollars are not subsidizing Mr. Reynolds’ political activity.
Thank you.

I’ve been active in taxations for longer then I care to acknowledge, both on the individual side (all my working life!!) and from a legal point of view since passing the bar and following tax law. I’ve provided a lot of advice and redressed a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve put up makes impeccable sense. Please uphold the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be outfitted to handle with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
