This is interesting.   Scene photographer Anastasia Pantsios knows John Quinn from Cleveland media circles.  And it seems that John Quinn’s little security breach isn’t all that anonymous.

I hope he is not the Northeast Ohio-based photographer I know. There is a John Quinn who has done extensive work locally including a poster of the Rock Hall that figured in a major legal dust-up. I hoped it isn’t him. His brother is a longtime close friend of mine.

And of course, not gonna be good for business!

I’ve never known him either to act crazy or to have any particular outspoken political opinions. I’ve discussed the election with his brother, who is totally on our side. I almost wonder if he wasn’t put up to this thinking he’d get some attention and publicity and get on talk shows and maybe boost his visibility and his career. I think, given the types of organizations and people who hire professional photographers in Northeast Ohio, that his calculation was off (if that was his calculation) and it’s likely to backfire. Cleveland is pretty staid. When I went to the McCain townhall with my colleague (we went as regular audience members, not press people, although we are) we never would have dreamed of standing up and shouting things or even going to the mic to ask an obnoxious “gotcha type” question. I think we both felt it would compromise us as journalists and not be good for us professionally.

And he’s a chickenhawk, too, complete with big fat mouth and puffed out chest.

He was pretty young when he started shooting concerts around here and he just wasn’t a military type then, plus not a lot of people were joining the military at that time (early 80s).
