The racist perversion of Shepard Fairey’s art

I can’t remember the last politician to inspire artists to make great art. Shepard Fairey’s posters of Barack Obama, which indeed are art, have taken on a life of their own. And one perversion of them from the right has been catching my eye lately, because it’s popping up all over wingnut blogs. This one.
It wasn’t long ago in America that a black man striking such a pose, in just the wrong place, however fake this one may be, would end up hung from a tree. Which is why it’s no wonder the Republican blogosphere has made this one of their favorite hit pieces. How dare a black man be smarter than us. How dare a black man get educated. How dare a black man run for president.
It’s rather appropriate that I found this racist image on Ohio GOP Bigot #4,859’s blog in a post alleging that Barack’s support of community service programs amounts to slavery.
In the early, 1800’s they called that slavery. In today’s world we call it being called by the Messiah Obama.
White racists’ deepest fear, as irrational as it may be, is that if a black man becomes president, white people will get their 400 year comeuppance. Thankfully, we have this anonymous bigot pig, and his not-so-anonymous-morbidly-obese-Starfleet-Commander link buddy to let us know just how afraid they are of the black man.

it’d be funny if it weren’t so sad. these guys are so sick with it, though. the irony of them posting this image while john mccain’s wife racks up a quarter mil on an amex. breathtaking in it’s scope.

…and the kids racked up what? 50k? more than most of the working class salaries in ohio? you know. the blue collar red meat americuns. cindy mccain’s kids charged more on a fucking amex THAN YOU MAKE IN A YEAR!

The easy thing for liberals to do is project their own racist beliefs on to others which you have done with this post.
If you would have ever read my blog, you’ll see that there’s no difference in my treatment of Obama v. another “progressive” snob, John Kerry.
