My comment to CNN’s AC 360

Here’s my comment onto CNN’s blog for Anderson Cooper’s AC 360
—
Guests in the first segment suggested that it’s the media’s job to knock down these smears. Excuse me?
Where were these people, Mr. Gergen and others, for the last 6 months, during which time all these smears have taken on such a life of their own that this cover is even possible?
I’ve been blogging about this all day, and I think this cover is long overdue, and the reason the cover is so over the top is because you folks, including you Anderson, have literally not lifted a single finger to correct these smears, combat them, investigate where they are coming from, or even repeat them on the air in order to refute them.
CNN, and the media environment CNN plays in, has a responsibility to the truth. What a profound indictment of your profession that this late in the election of the President of the United States of America, such a large portion of the electorate literally believes the most ridiculously absurd falsities displayed in that cover.
It’s incredibly sad. And I applaud the New Yorker for blowing the lid off this topic, which CNN and others have not yet engaged in the least.
