Funniest Dimora-related quote to date - others will “pick up the slack” at the party!
Wed, Jul 30, 2008
One of the blindest spots in the media in Cleveland is that they actually treat the Cuyahoga Democratic Party as a real political party. Today’s “analysis” on the consequences for county Dems is a case in point. The title “chairman” seems so regal, and Jimmy looks the part for sure. Cleveland media has never realized that there is no there. There.
Which is why this cracked me up this morning.
Sandy McNair, a party leader in Brecksville, said party members in lesser roles will pick up the slack while Dimora deals with the investigation.
Don’t overexert yourself Sandy! There are no “lesser roles” in the Cuyahoga Democratic party. In fact, there are no “roles.” There is nothing. There is no “slack” to pick up, unless you mean the entire god damned party.
Which is why this is kinda funny.
• If Dimora resigns as the party chairman, the party’s Central Committee must pick his replacement within 30 days. Dimora has given no indication he intends to give up the post.
And this.
Yet, Democratic Party officers gave little insight into any internal struggles as Dimora remained in seclusion…Officers did not respond to or declined interview requests…Most local Democrats would not touch the issue in interviews out of respect for Dimora, a beloved figure within the party.
Translated - everyone was asleep.
And Bill Mason? If anyone was going to start a push to get Dimora out, it’s Mason. And here’s what he’s saying.
For now, though, Mason is steering clear of the issue. His spokesman, Ryan Miday, declined to discuss the political implications of the raids….Miday noted that Mason’s office was not involved in the investigation.
Don’t protest too much, Bill!! Mason’s waiting for another shoe to drop, which I guess will coincide with Pat O’Malley’s sentencing later in August. Some bloggers have asked me, hey, what’s this mean for the party? Everytime I just laugh and say, “what party?” Dimora’s not going anywhere, anyone who might challenge him is waiting for more shoes to drop, and the rest of the party is just hoping they don’t get subpoenaed.
What does this all mean for Barack, and Obama staff in Cuyahoga?
Go, baby, go.
All the politicos, from top to bottom, who usually stand in the way of your efforts at this time of year, for whatever stupid petulant reasons they may have, they are a bit….ahem…..OCCUPADO at the moment. All that stuff you want them to help you with, that they tell you to wait for? Forget it. All that care and feeding these bloated piles of inflated self-importance demand from you? Guess what - that’s gonna stop now. They have to meet with their attorneys.
Go, Barack staffers, go. Just do it.
