Guess that explains why Todd Hoffman wouldn’t return my call about the AG “process”.  Some “process”.

Ok.  Let me be clear.  I think Rich Cordray will make a good AG, and I think he’ll administer a beatdown to whatever goon the GOP puts up.  That’s good.

But when I called the ODP to ask for someone, anyone, to talk to about the “process” today, the girl answering the phone assumed I was calling to be a candidate, and started to tell me where I could send my resume.  While the governor’s office was getting ready to send out a press release.  Endorsing Cordray.

That’s bad.

Once again, we Democrats are handed a fait accompli, by a closed process, by the same people and process which handed us Marc Dann.  All while some absurd illusion of “process” was being touted to the point that people at ODP are actually accepting resumes for the position from random people calling on the phone.

Come on, guys.  Don’t you know that Barack Obama is going to be president, and that this garbage is not going to fly anymore?  I hate to rain on everyone’s parade in the Ohio blogosphere, but this kind of politics isn’t going to fly for much longer.  Not after Barack wins, the way that he will win.

As for Rich….dude….you had better be all that and more.  If Rich Cordray becomes another Marc Dann, even at the margins, even in the slightest, teeniest way, after having the position stitched up for him the same way it was stitched up for Marc Dann….well, I feel sorry for the guy.  One slip, and this state’s media will pounce.  And so will this blogger.
