This comment from Scott Pullins is operative.
Two or more threats of physical harm, even sent electronically, are prohibited under Ohio law. They are also grounds for a Civil Stalking Protection Order.
Your commenter should cool it or you could file a number of charges.
You know, I’ve been pretty damn mean to Scott Pullins in the past, so I must say I NEVER expected support from him for anything. But here he is. Guess all that stuff about hope really is true, isn’t it? Get on board the O-Train, Scott! And thank you.
On the substance of Scott’s comment, whoever these people (or person) may be, they should know that this here interrupted blogger has one hell of a ratfucking lawyer, who at this moment is preparing for work directly related to this blog. I’d just love to give him more work. And Ideastream sure looks like a nice, deep pocket from this angle.
As for the comments themselves, I like to leave that kind of shit on my blog when it inevitably comes around. It’s a reminder to me of how often I go through this crap when I draw blood (which it appears I have), how predictable this behavior is, and how I need to remember that it’s part of my life, whether I like it or not.

I guess I explain it this way:
True conservatives believe that humans are flawed, that none of us are perfect, none of us are without sin. True conservatives believe in the power of hope, or faith, or positive thinking, or whatever you want to call it to better your life.
True conservatives believe in redemption, in forgiveness, and in second, third, fourth, and fifth chances, turn the other cheek, and try, try again.
I tend to think that the more you write, especially about yourself, the healthier you will be. And it doesn’t help you or anyone else for those who try to tear you down with insults and threats.

Hey Scotty, just a heads-up, watching the various incarnations of Law and Order do not make you the slightest bit knowledgeable on the law. But since you’re playing Matlock on here, why don’t you cite for all of us all applicable statutes under Ohio law AND case law to go along with them. Until such time, how about stifling it Edith. But then again, websites like this allow people like you and Douchebag’s Poster Child to act all smart and stuff.
As far as you Tim Russo…people who live in glass houses — or in your case, your parents house because you can’t even get a job prepaying the pumps at your local Speedway — you REALLY don’t want go down the route of threatening ME with your so-called lawyer. And it can be easily proven that you knowingly trespassed. Not to mention your constant “spam” to various companies who can give a rats’ ass about you. If you really think you being an alleged “lawyer” scares me in anyway, shape or form, you are seriously hallucinating. I know the law, too. Unlike your idiot blogger-friend you’re defending. Funny how you and him refuse to address that LEGITIMATE and REAL actions of him the other day at the Idea Center. And the fact that HE is a lawyer — albeit “inactive” further shows that lawyers in this town — or in general — have some pretty ignorant people in that flock.

(A) (1) No person by engaging in a pattern of conduct shall knowingly cause another person to believe that the offender will cause physical harm to the other person or cause mental distress to the other person.
(2) No person, through the use of any electronic method of remotely transferring information, including, but not limited to, any computer, computer network, computer program, or computer system, shall post a message with purpose to urge or incite another to commit a violation of division (A)(1) of this section.

The U.S. CAN-SPAM Act does indeed not ban the sending of Unsolicited Bulk Email, it merely outlaws the sending of Unsolicited Bulk Email with false or misleading sender information (and other specified conditions).

there is no false or misleading sender information in my emails to Ideastream. and i’m sending them to Ideastream because it is Ideastream staff who are threatening me in violation of Ohio law, lying about the Freetimes story, and refusing to answer a question about a truthful matter.

Are there any alternatives to WCPN for decent news and broadcasting in the Cleveland area? I listen to them all the time because I enjoy their programming; but I’ll not be making any more monetary pledges to their station if Mark Smukler and the asshole posting here are illustrative of their staff. Is Smukler as creepy in person as he comes across in the video?

Perhaps someone should direct Mr. Russo to the Knox County Court of Common Pleas – Case No. 07ST05-0230
Mr. Pullins has tried only one case regarding “threats” via internet – Mr. Pullins couldn’t make his case, and it was dismissed on its merits –
Mr. Russo should be very careful who he hires to ‘represent’ his interests – I would suggest an attorney with a ‘winning’ record, not a losing one.
