Glenn Greenwald can kiss my Olbermann - UPDATE: Special Comment Monday

UPDATE - Olbermann just announced he’s doing a special comment on Monday about FISA.  THAT oughta be FANTASTIC.

Such.  Whiny.  Bitching. From Glenn Greenwald, and the FISA-obsessed teeny minority of the Democratic Party.  For anyone who cares to get into the tit for tat, see here.  But here’s the gist.

Lefty bloggers spent the last, oh, YEAR, front paging every FISA related post they can think of.  The thing comes to a vote, and Barack Obama tells them he’s not with them.  After spending the entire primary going over their heads to their readers and getting their support for his campaign, absent FISA fealty.  Lefty bloggers freak.  Keith Olbermann finds Obama’s position remarkably, um, smart.  Glenn Greenwald loses his mind.

We’ve seen this story before.  The lefty-bloggers-losing-their-mind part.  Always over itty bitty minutiae laden wonkery, which not one single average voter could identify from a lineup, let alone cares about.

Count me with Keith.  As I’ve said before, telecom immunity irritates the hell out of me.  But I’m trying to win the White House, and along the way, elect the first black president in our history.  Forgive me for not giving enough shits about FISA.

And as for Keith Olbermann, name a single one of these self-appointed navel-gazing “netroots leaders” who has had a fraction of the impact on the media coverage of this election that Keith has had.  Bill O’Reilly doesn’t go after Glenn Greenwald, he goes after Keith.  Why?  Because Keith scares the crap out the right.  Glenn Greenwald and an army of his ilk wouldn’t scare a 90 year old grandmother into giving up her seat at a McDonalds.

Memo to FISA obsessed whiners mucking up the gears of the O-Train - shut up, sit down, and quit sucking on your thumbs.

Your behavior right now does not befit a train bound for glory.

I actually exchanged a couple emails about FISA with Greenwald a little while back. He thinks this issue is worth losing elections for.

  2. Tim Russo Says:

    well, then he’s an idiot.

  3. Akonuche Says:

Anyone who believes the FISA legislation is worth losing an election over is more than just an idiot. They are demented.

  4. jason Says:

maybe he also believes that it’s an issue that you can take the right stand on and actually WIN elections b/c of it? cowardly democrats have been rolling over for the GOP on issue after issue this past decade b/c they are afraid of electoral ramifications. but they’re never afraid of the electoral ramifications of looking weak and spineless, are they?

greenwald’s not a partisan, so saying that a particular party winning an election is not a priority for him is stating the obvious. he’s not on “the o-train,” so i hardly think he needs your direction in how he should criticize it.

whatever you may think of greenwald’s analysis or priorities, your intemperate, character-assaulting, “macho man” response distracts enormously from whatever point you were trying to make.
