Another email to WCPN’s entire staff, Ed Campbell, Board chair
I’ve also sent this to the national NPR ombudsman and various local and national media.
Dear Mr. Campbell,
I am awaiting a response from you regarding the absurd behavior of WCPN’s director of content, Mark Smukler.
I will draw your attention to this video once more, particularly the portion where Mr. Smukler, when asked to “tell the truth”, Mr. Smukler asks, “why?”.

For any journalist to respond in this way when asked for the truth is truly astonishing. I don’t know what your position may be on this matter, but I certainly hope you will let me know that you profoundly disagree with the notion of asking “why” when asked to tell the truth.
I have also written tonight about my reasons for going to WCPN in the first place.

I look forward to hearing from you.
When you ask a journalist to tell the truth, and he responds “why?”, I think that demands an explanation.
