Separated in the Utovich?
Tue, May 6, 2008
The rumors are flying fast and furious lately. But one keeps popping up over and over again. I’m not sure what to believe anymore, but it would not surprise me in the least if one woman brought down the entire Democratic Party in Ohio. Not in the least.
Why? Because since the election of Chris Redfern as chair, this party has been nothing but a cesspool of insider dealing, back scratching, and closed processes, which have divided the party at critical moments like this one. No wonder they’re all in the tank for Hillary Clinton, ODP and Hillary share the same MO.
Here we are about to enter a presidential election which will make the biggest decision in American political history, Ohio will likely be determinative, and the idiots who run our party in Ohio have mired the Democratic Party in scandal after scandal, to the point where they now…ahem….bump into each other.
The reason the ODP is so susceptible to this is the ODP itself, and it’s culture of old school politics. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. Or more. If you want. Wink wink. How the hell do you think a girl who’s running Cuyahoga County Young Democrats manages to get anywhere in this party? Becuase she’s talented? Because she has good ideas? Ideas? What are those?
Sources tell me that Jessica Utovich isn’t the first female president of Cuyahoga County Young Dems to try to sleep her way up the ladder. That precedent had been set a long time before her. So why not follow it? Looks like it got Jessica all the way up to the AG’s office. Step by step.
To create an atmosphere within the Ohio Democratic Party where this type of “advancement” is not only possible, but cultivated, and now the subject of potential impeachment and blackmail….is this the 21st century?
I don’t think Jessica is the villain here. I think Jessica just kinda did what she thought she needed to do. Hell, if Chris Redfern will piss all over Stephanie Tubbs Jones to get the votes he needs to be chair, and then force feed a fatally flawed maggot like Marc Dann into an ODP endorsement, what kind of atmosphere and message would that send to any reasonable woman trying to make it in politics?
It’s long past time for Jessica’s story to be told. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in her shoes right now, but it can’t be good. If she wants to tell her story, I’m a sympathetic ear. Email me.

“I don’t think Jessica is the villain here. I think Jessica just kinda did what she thought she needed to do.”
That’s spot on. I think she knew what she was doing, but I’m hard pressed to go totally ballistic on her. I feel a bit bad for her really. She’s young and obviously ambitious. It’s the culture that’s the villain. Culture of Caligula.

Our government has criminally invaded and occupied another nation, a major American city has been washed away by a hurricane, we are paying exorbitant prices for fossil fuels and groceries, there are no jobs, Christian lunatics are running loose everywhere, the Ohio state legislature has done nothing in ten years to remedy our unconstitutional school funding system…
Why in the hell should any sane person, meaning not on the inside of Ohio’s Democratic Party, care about any of this bullshit?
Thanks for reminding me why I can’t in good conscious call myself a Democrat. I’m just waiting for a viable third party alternative.

Eric,
She wouldn’t know Caligula, if he dropped a bowl of wine in her lap.
It would be better stated as, The Culture of Wisteria Lane. lol
People KNOW the difference between what is RIGHT, WRONG, questionable sleeping with the AG that has children and a WIFE can be judged by a reasonable person as at least “not good.”
Utovich shares blame with Jennings, Gutierrez and Dann.
Neither “the culture” nor her predecessors give any excuse for her LYING to Ben Espy (perjury)

It would be truly sad if this is how the ODP operates. Regarding Utovich, to paraphrase Forrest Gump: “Slutty is as slutty does”
