Today’s back and forth, with the entire ODP demanding Marc Dann resign, and Dann petulantly refusing, is a study in a lot of things, but proof positive that Ted Strickland has created a mess he cannot fix, with an adversary, Alyssa Lenhoff, Marc Dann’s wife, who ain’t backing down.

Marc Dann was Strickland’s and ODP Chair Chris Redfern’s hand picked choice for Attorney General, over the objection of many and with complete knowledge that Dann was already a ticking time bomb.  You’d think Dann would at least be controllable to the point that when asked to resign, he’d comply.  

But hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.  And Alyssa Lenhoff is that woman.  And the total impotence of Chris Redfern & Ted Strickland is now on full display.

I feel for her.  I really do.  She’s married to a verifiable maggot.  And has been for years, and has watched him make a fool of her over and over again.  I get that.  And now, thanks to Dann’s total meltdown, Lenhoff is made the fool again.  

Lenhoff is staring at a future for her and her children as laughingstocks whose chief bread winner is now almost totally unemployable.  I know that feeling.  That’s a point of real desperation.  If she has to make Ted Strickland drag her husband out of his job by his scrotum, through an impeachment process of months, she’s gonna do it.  Every paycheck Marc Dann earns from here on out is reason enough for a family facing that kind of future.

I’m also struck by how such personal failings paralyze our party and our government.  Kinda reminds you of the Clintons, don’t it.  Thank god the Clintons will be gone from our politics soon.  Too bad Marc Dann won’t be.
