Endless stream of press releases interrupted at ODB for Dann defense

Um…..Chris Baker, Cindy Zawacky, and Jeff Coryell are suddenly defending Marc Dann?   What is going on here?  I’m not sure what this group is up to here, but some of it makes sense, some of it seems like pure Dann apologia.  Do you guys care to clarify?

My takeaway from the exchange is that Chris, Zawacky, and Coryell, want things to slow down.  That’s gonna be a big help for Barack Obama in the fall.  Sure.  And the notion that this just kinda popped up, and that Marc Dann needs some kind of benefit of the doubt, is laughable.

Has Marc Dann’s new hitman found a receptive audience for Marc Dann’s spin?

  1. Modern Esquire Says:

I don’t think Cindy, at least, is defending Dann as much as she’s trying to defend the ODP for endorsing Dann. She seems to agree with the recent actions by Strickland and Redfern. Or did I overlook something?

  2. Chris Baker Says:

Sheesh. Don’t you have to be able to read in order to get into law school?

I do hate binary thinking. Just because I disagree with you doesn’t mean that I agree with Dann. Surely you guys are creative enough to see things in more than one dimension.

I’ve never defended Marc Dann. I just don’t want to see him holed up in the AGs office because of ODP heavy handed tactics. Their goal is to end this as fast as possible. The Republicans goal is to turn this into a circus and try to damage the Democrats as much as possible. My goal is to make sure that it gets thoroughly investigated and that it doesn’t happen again.

From the look of things Strickland let the bully in him get his better nature and attacked this problem before he had all his ducks in a row. Now we have chaos, a good chance that Dann go the distance, and the Republicans holding the ball with the ability to drag this thing out for a very long time. Strategically, tactically, and ethically I don’t think that the ODP handled this thing well. A mob is not justice, and for me a resignation is not a fair substitute for time behind bars.

The ODP caused this mess. I don’t trust them to resolve it to the best interests of the Ohio citizens. Their interests conflict with that goal. When laws are broken the best interests of the victims, and the community take priority over Barack Obama’s chances to win the state in November, or the ODP’s image as all things honest and true. These must take priority for justice to be served. Conducting a platitude laced white wash is not justice in my book.

I must say that I am getting a kick out of Tim Russo the defender of women’s virtue, and Tim Russo the hanging judge for people with sexual failings. I highly respect your honesty on this site but I do question your intellectual consistency.

Some days you have to play defense. Some days you just have to shut up and take the hit. Strickland needs to learn that he can’t control everything. It is much easier to redirect energy than it is to build it.

  3. Tim Russo Says:

Plenty of intellectual consistency here, Baker. More than you ever have.

Marc Dann has to go. Period. And fast. I don’t know how anyone can argue otherwise.
