A lot of things mean a lot more in 2008 because Barack Obama is running for president.  From the three fifths compromise in 1789, to the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, to Plessy in 1896, to Brown in 1954, to Barack Obama’s election as president in 2008.  It’s a direct line from America’s birth to Barack Obama.  And you are the lucky generation that gets to see the beginning, of the end game, of America’s original sin.

    America’s original sin was not slavery, it was the treatment and the murder of those who originally lived here who still live in horrible conditions in many parts of our own country. Right now. In 2006 26 percent of American Indians, more than twice the national average and more than any other group, were below the poverty line.
