A tiny violin plays for Connie Schultz

Politics

Connie Schutlz and I have a history, yes.  I’ve been reading her various columns about the presidential race with some amusement.  But today’s took the cake.  My god, I almost puked into my coffee.

Thesis – all women must brace for the hate because Hillary Clinton lost.  Victim woman, hear her roar.  Or whine, as the case may be.

One woman stood up and, in a halted voice, managed one sentence before the tears started to fall: “Someone gave me a Hillary nutcracker as a gift.”  The room fell silent. A friend grabbed her hand, and several older women in the audience started wiping their eyes.

A Hillary nutcracker.  Made them cry.  Good thing I wasn’t there, because I’d have LAUGHED MY FUCKING ASS OFF.  But The Pulitzer was moved.

“I can see that felt personal, and that it hurt you,” I said slowly. She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine.

Connie Schultz, and her soothing Pulitzer gaze…oh the humanity!  What’s got all these women so weepy they need to lean on a Pulitzer for help?

We have only begun to feel the damage of the punch-and-pummel pundits who couldn’t wrap their limited minds around the first woman to win a presidential primary, again and again.

Connie.  Honey.  Dear.  Sweetheart.  We all had our heads wrapped around the first woman to win a presidential primary, until that woman race-baited the electorate for months in order to defeat the first black person to win our party’s nomination.  And that’s why Hillary Clinton is now despised by half of her own party as much as she is despised by the entirety of the other party.  Did that ever occur to you?  It’s occurred to most of us.

I actually can’t stand her or her husband any more. I defended her. I defended her husband. And now I’m actually wondering if the Republicans weren’t right about them. That’s how bad she has damaged her reputation. People who actually liked you, who actually helped you, who actually defended you, LOATHE you now. Call me a Clinton-hater all you like, but people like me were the ones who had your back. And we never will again.

Perhaps Hillary and her sycophants like Connie could leave the stage with a modicum of grace and dignity, without now playing a victimhood complex on us all.   Isn’t it enough that she tapped into the hideous 400 year old fissure of the American story for her own gain?  Even Strom Thurmond knew when to shut up.

The first woman to win a presidential primary isn’t EveryWoman, she’s a sad caricature of EveryWorst politician I’ve ever worked for, seen, or will ever meet again.  If Hillary were, oh, say, ANY OTHER WOMAN BESIDES THE WOMAN SHE IS, she might be a source of pride for all of us instead of a source of shame.

Instead, Americans, both men and women, will be happy to see her and her tactics relegated to the dustbin of the history she made before she then defecated upon it through her own actions.

[and oh yeah...the word "bitch" does apply to her]

How appropriate! I just got off the phone with a Hillary campaign staffer in Kentucky. It was the only place where an actual human being picked up the phone after I attempted a half dozen other numbers. You see, I wanted to request that I be removed from their campaign’s mailing lists. I received yet another Hillary solicitation in the mail today. Enough!

I asked the pleasant Kentucky staffer for a number where I could speak to a person and be removed from their lists. She volunteered to take my information and she’d do the work for me. How nice. I asked, “Does this mean that I’ll get even MORE mail from that racist scumbag?”

Poor college-age girl. She let out the cutest little gasp in response. I felt sorry for her as she proceeded to take my info in a sullen but professional manner.
