So Matt Barrett has nude pics of a woman he knows, not his wife, on his computer. Why the quick resignation?  Aside from throwing his own kid under the bus for it.  Something’s going on here.  And police are involved.

First of all, Barrett knew the women in the nude pictures.

“The pictures were of women he knows from back in his district,” said the member.

And the police are involved.

Norwalk Law Director Stu O’Hara said the investigative file on the incident will be turned over to an outside prosecutor because of a possible conflict of interest. Barrett has been working on a project for the city of Norwalk, O’Hara said.

“Depending on which way the charging decision could go, there could appear that there was some impropriety or conflict of interest,” O’Hara said. He declined to comment further.

Beatty issued a statement saying that “it became clear that Rep. Barrett had not been forthright with me and his colleagues” about the photo.

“New information came to light, and when that new information came to light, Leader Beatty asked for and received his resignation,” said Phil Saken, a spokesman for the Ohio House Democratic caucus. 

If these pics were some random porn collection, why would the police be involved?  And if they were of someone that Barrett knew, again…why police involvement?  Do we have an Eliot Spitzer situation?  And WTF with this?

A later review by the Norwalk Police, with help from the State Highway Patrol, found the image had been downloaded by one of Barrett’s children. 

If the police found that the kid downloaded it, why is he resigning?  This has a ways to go, methinks.
